Wilshire Park Elementary School is a 2017 Blue Ribbon School

Wilshire Park Elementary School was one of eight Minnesota schools selected as a 2017 National Blue Ribbon School.  Wilshire Park was nominated as an Exemplary High Performing School by the Minnesota Department of Education.  Principal Kari Page explained in a staff meeting on September 29, 2017, "Schools that receive the award for exemplary performance achieve at higher rates than other schools."

As stated in the Press Release, the National Blue Ribbon School award is based on a school’s overall academic excellence or marked progress in closing achievement gaps among student subgroups.  National Blue Ribbon Schools demonstrate that all students can achieve at high levels.

In a video message to students, Principal Kari Page explained, "The reason why you deserve this award is because you work hard every day.  Way to go Wilshire Park students!  You are the best and you really deserve this award."

The Department will honor 292 public and 50 private schools at a recognition ceremony on Nov. 6 – 7, 2017 in Washington, D.C.
In 2016, St. Anthony Village High School was selected as a National Blue Ribbon School.
